Timer events

In the timer interface, you can use timers to perform one or more actions on a specified time.
To load timers on startup, use the /LOADTIMER[=file] command line parameter.
When loading timers, you can use a relative times by editing a saved timer file with an text editor, e.g. by changing an eventtime from 16:30 to +00:30
If the IR timer is active, it is also shown in the list of timer events.

Internet radio (streams)

Calaym supports Internet radio streams (Tools, Internet radio...) with some limitations/changes:

*Buffer status is shown instead of the time display
*Pause will only mute the stream, but streaming will still continue
*Restart using the play button is not supported, but you can reconnect using the menu or keyboard shortcut
*Station name and URL will be automatically detected
*Tags and Bitrate will be automatically detected/updated

Drag'n'drop

Dropped files are opened / added. If you drop with the shift key pressed, a menu for further actions will appear.
You can also drag items from your playlist and drop on other programs. Dropping on the Windows Explorer for example will copy files. If you hold the control key when starting dragging, only songs (files) will be dragged; After starting dragging, release the control key as this key may affect actions perfomed when dropping.

Recording

Calaym does not support recording, but you can drag files or directories from the playlis and drop them on the recording application.

AutoRefresh

Directories that will be automatically refreshed when loading playlists, on demand, if missing AutoRefresh files are encountered or after a specified time.
The monitoring option will check for any changes, but may not work on removeable or network drives or sharings.
Autorefresh settings are saved with the playlist; When appending a playlist, settings are merged with current autorefresh settings
Delayed autorefresh stops playback and clears all playlist items. After one minute all AutoRefresh directories are read and playback is restarted.

Removeable devices

Event Regular action, without 'Remove missing songs' Regular action, with 'Remove missing songs' Kiosk mode action

(see /CD and /DD command line parameters)
Failure of removal When a device is about to be removed, the system asks applications for permission first. Calaym will stop playback if required at this stage to prevent failure (the playlist is not altered at this point). However, during some operations Calaym may deny removal.

Volume

For best sound quality, on most soundcards you should not set both application and soundcard volume(s) to maximum.
